The 34-year-old striker, West Ham’s all-time top scorer in the Premier League, had to be cut from the wreckage by fire crews, who took almost an hour to free him.

Images circulating on social media revealed the significant damage to Antonio’s £260,000 Ferrari, raising concern among fans.

The crash occurred at around 12:50 pm when the Ferrari left the road and collided with trees. Firefighters arrived quickly and managed to release Antonio by 1:45 pm.

According to The Guardian, Essex Fire Service confirmed, "Crews were called to High Road, Epping, at 1.02 pm this afternoon after reports of a road traffic collision involving one car. On arrival, firefighters reported that a man was trapped in his car and worked to release him by 1:45 pm. The casualty was left in the care of the Ambulance Service."

Antonio was airlifted to a central London hospital after the rescue. Fans have been anxiously waiting for updates on his condition.

Among the fans, the incident was initially reported through rumors on social media and later confirmed by photographs of the damaged Ferrari. This has sparked widespread concern, with fans hoping for Antonio’s swift recovery.

Essex Police also provided more details, stating, "Officers investigating a serious collision in Epping are asking for witnesses and dash cam footage. We were called shortly after 12:50 pm on Saturday 7 December to Coppice Row, Epping, following reports of what is believed to be a single vehicle collision involving a Ferrari. Emergency services attended and the driver has been taken to hospital."

And his ex-wife Debbie Whittle made sure to be at his side. According to The Sun, she travelled from her house in Manchester all the way down to London to be at his bedside.

Antonio, who has played 322 matches for West Ham and scored 83 goals, helped the club win the UEFA Conference League in 2023. Fans worldwide are rallying behind him, wishing for his quick recovery.
