ANTIPOLO—The PBA is set to act on the status of NorthPort’s John Amores after being charged with attempted homicide following an alleged involvement in a shooting incident in Lumban, Laguna.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said a decision will be made next week after Amores submitted a letter explaining his part in the incident that took place after a heated argument in a basketball game.

That’s why we’re carefully studying the matter,” Marcial told reporters in Filipino during halftime of Saturday’s PBA Governors’ Cup quarterfinal decider between Rain or Shine and Magnolia at Ynares Center here.

Amores met with Marcial and PBA legal counsel Melvin Mendoza last Tuesday to explain his part in the incident that led to the sophomore forward and his brother spending time in jail before posting bail.
